Bristol Pride

Organised by volunteers from the community, working all year round to challenge homophobia, biphobia, and transphobia and promote equality and diversity, for all, through various events, school visits, consultation services and lobbying.

 

Bristol Radical History group

BRHG projects and events have been organised by local people from Bristol since 2006, without funding from universities, political parties, business or local government. Part of the ‘International history from below’ network.

Bristol Womens’ Voice

A charity created by Bristol women in 2016, emerging after a large-scale, council-funded consultation in 2013 where women consistently said they didn’t feel heard in decision-making. BWC now has 4,000 members and subscribers helping to shape its strategic plan and direction.

Disability Activism Bristol
Part of the Forging Our Future project, Disability Activism Bristol was funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund to tell the story of the Disabled People’s movement in Bristol from the 1980s to 2010.

My wild city - Bristol

A three-year project with Avon Wildlife Trust focusing on eight local wildlife sites in different neighbourhoods across Bristol, linking people living in the communities nearby with these spaces. The Trust’s purpose is to bring wildlife back, to empower people to take meaningful action for nature, and to create an inclusive society where nature matters and everyone’s inspired to get involved in nature’s recovery.
